I visited Knoebels last week, an amusement park nestled in the woods in Pennsylvania, that opened in 1926. Wooden roller coasters, a carousel museum, a giant birthday cake pavilion, and lots of great signs. I'm making some small paintings based on the pics I took. The only rides I could handle were the Ferris wheel and a miniature train, but I've accepted that about myself, as it's perfectly pleasant to sit in the shade eating ice cream while others careen screaming through the air or tumble like towels in a spinning metal cage and emerge, inexplicably, beaming.
