I will be participating in Newburgh OPEN Studios 2018 on September 29-30, with some new paintings and other stuff to look at (and buy at special open studio prices). Since my own studio is in my apartment on Liberty St, I'm sharing a bright street-level space with several other artists around the corner at 104 1/2 Ann St, next to Ann St Gallery.
NOS takes place on Sat Sept 29 and Sun Sept 30, 12-6pm each day. Maps available starting at 10am both days at Newburgh Art Supply, 5 Grand St. Updates and info on the NOS Facebook page and www.newburghopenstudios.org.

New collection of prints made this summer before I went to the art fair in Bristol. Now they're back in town and up for sale in my Etsy shop, have a look at them and some other new items.
My window installation at Meyers Olde Dutch in Beacon for Windows On Main Street 2018.
I imagined a window into the past, the kind of classic burger joint that this restaurant is a casual-modern interpretation of. Like a 1940s black & white photograph (or one of my paintings) made 3D. You’re inside my place looking out into the future or you’re inside MOD looking through the frame of the past to see the present. All salvaged and hand-painted materials. The backdrop is plexiglas on the top half mounted to the wood frame, the bottom half is stretched canvas on this side, whiteboard on the other. On the wall is a framed print of my Frostick 5c painting, because the palette and theme match the rest, and because like the whole scene, it was inspired by photographs of Rudy Burckhardt. On view through mid-September. 184 Main St. Grab a burger while there, they also have a fine vegetable burger and exceptionally good fries. Incidentally, all the components of this installation are for sale except the glass and the metal straw. |
